Najib said the Deepavali celebration this year was extra special as their hopes and aspirations had been carved in the Malaysian Indian Blueprint (MIB) launched in April.
“Deepavali is back to illuminate the atmosphere. The lighted lamps and kolam decorations are the reflection of our harmonious living environment,” he said in his Deepavali message on Facebook today.
Najib said Malaysia had experienced steady economic progression and this rapid development was something to be proud of.
“In spite of evolving into a high technology nation and with all the modern facilities, our cultural uniqueness remains.
“Happy Deepavali or Deepavali Vaalthukal” he said in wishing Hindus celebrating the festival on Wednesday.
On April 23, Najib launched the MIB as an official government document for the development of the Indian community in the country for the next 10 years.
