The airport was where Indonesian Siti Aisyah and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong are accused of spraying the toxic VX nerve agent on Jong Nam.
Justice Azmi Ariffin proposed to visit klia2 on Oct 24, after a week’s break. There is no hearings from Oct 16 to 20.
Earlier today, deputy public prosecutor Wan Shaharudin Wan Ladin said he had received requests from the women’s lawyers to conduct the site visit to klia2.
Azmi agreed to the suggestion as some recordings were edited and unclear.
“I also want to see the real scene on the ground,” he said.
Doan’s lawyer, Naran Singh, told reporters that his client and Siti Aisyah will also be taken to visit the airport.
On Monday, Azmi, along with lawyers, prosecutors and the two women, visited the Chemistry Department to view the “LOL” blouse, that has traces of the VX nerve agent.
This came after chemist Dr Raja Subramaniam told the court last week that viewing the “LOL” blouse in an open space was dangerous because the VX nerve agent may be still present.
Images from CCTV recordings showed a woman wearing a “LOL” shirt and approaching Jong Nam at klia2 on Feb 13.
Doan and Siti Aisyah have been charged with murdering the estranged half-brother of North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un on Feb 13.
Jong Nam, the eldest son of former North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, arrived in Malaysia on Feb 6, and was at the klia2 to board a 9am flight to Macau on the day he was killed.
He died on the way to Putrajaya Hospital, sparking a diplomatic row between Putrajaya and Pyongyang.
During the opening statement last week, the prosecution said it would prove that the two women approached Jong Nam at the airport’s departure hall and sprayed VX nerve agent on his eyes and face.
Prosecutors told the court the actions of Siti Aisyah and Doan showed they both intended to cause Jong Nam’s death.
