The man won RM20.49 million with his Toto 4D Jackpot ticket which contained five numbers (System 5), with two of them – 7288 and 1651 – coming out as second and third prize, respectively, for the Toto 4D draw on Sept 30.
The 61-year-old feng shui master, who is from Johor, said he got his winning numbers from a temple where he prayed frequently.
“The temple has seen many of its followers winning the lottery. I got my lucky numbers after my prayer session on the Friday (Sept 29) before the draw.
“I bought the pair of numbers on Saturday for the first time and I won the RM20.49 million jackpot!” he was quoted as saying in a statement by Sports Toto, the operator of the numbers lottery game.
He added that he had “sensed” recently that he had some “money luck”.
According to the company, the man had collected his winnings on Oct 2.
Because he purchased the Toto 4D ticket on a System 5, the combination of five different sets of 4D numbers, he also won an additional RM1,008.
The man related how he and his family were all excited and could not sleep after finding out on the day of the draw that he had won the jackpot.
“I thought many would have bought the same numbers and I would be sharing the jackpot with a few winners.
“I guess I was truly lucky to win RM20.49 mil out of the RM21.5mil jackpot,” he was quoted as saying.
As to how he plans to spend his millions, the man said he would donate some of his winnings to the temple, with the rest going towards settling his children’s housing loans.
“I will also help my children start some business.”
Meanwhile, Sports Toto said that another lucky punter, who is from Penang, had won the remaining RM1.06 million for the same Toto 4D draw after he bought an i-System 4D ticket.
