Noh, who is also Selangor Umno Liaison chairman, said the demolition of the property had been carried out by the MBSA that comes under the jurisdiction of the Selangor government.
“I would have prevented the demolition job if the local authority was under my ministry, despite the court order.
“I would have helped the people and not demolished (the buildings) and only then try to find a solution,” he told reporters after opening the Strata Management Organisation Convention, here today.
Azmin had earlier said Noh should have prevented the demolition of the houses and shophouses near the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport since the buildings were located on federal government land.
In the meantime, Noh said the 17 affected residents would be put up in new homes on Oct 10.
