Sabah gives RM4m for non-Islamic religious bodies, schools

Chief Minister Musa Aman says the money will be useful for daily expenses.

The Sabah government has allocated RM4.07 million for non-Islamic religious bodies and schools in the east coast of the state.

Chief Minister Musa Aman said today the amount included RM1.59 million for schools.

These included Chinese private schools, mission schools and kindergartens.

The allocation for non-Islamic religious bodies included for churches and temples.

“The contribution will meet part of the financial needs to cover the daily operation cost of these institutions.

“The fact is schools are crucial in producing a knowledge society. Religious bodies play a role in instilling noble and positive values in society.”

He said this when handing over the financial aid to 62 non-Islamic religious bodies and schools in the east coast of Sabah here today.
