KUALA LUMPUR: Television host and personality Mahadzir Lokman, who was admitted to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre’s intensive care unit (ICU) in a coma on Sunday, has regained consciousness.

His brother Danial said Mahadzir could speak but still remained under doctors’ observation.

“Alhamdulillah. He has regained consciousness. He is alert, can talk but still under close monitoring by the doctors.

“His first words were ‘please have someone to bring my pyjamas and toothbrush to the hospital ya’,” Danial said in a WhatsApp message today.

Mahadzir, 60, was sent to the hospital after his family found him unconscious at home due to multiple complications from hypertension and diabetes.
