Syed Abdul Rahman Perman, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge when produced before magistrate Ainna Sherina Saipolamin.
The 35-year-old allegedly committed the offence at the transport ministry’s premises here at 1am on July 13.
If found guilty, he could face jail time of up to six months, a maximum RM2,000 fine, or both.
Sherina imposed a RM3,000 bail in one surety.
She then fixed the case for mention on Oct 11.
Syed Abdul Rahman, who is now under suspension, was represented by lawyer S Mogan while deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Izzat Fauzan prosecuted.
It was earlier reported that three RTD officers were detained for allegedly breaking into the office of then director-general Nadzri Siron.
Nadzri has since been transferred to the human resources ministry.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Mohd Isa said the three were detained soon after a police report was lodged.
Rusdi said at the time that it had not been ascertained whether anything was stolen from Nadzri’s office.
