
The first case involves two men, aged 53 and 25, from a longhouse in Sungai Durin, about 42km from here, who allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl repeatedly since August last year.
District police chief ACP Saiful Bahari Abdullah, who did not reveal the time and place of arrest, said the first suspect, who was unemployed, had a rape-related criminal record.
He said the other suspect, who was working at a sawmill, had no previous criminal record.
“The two suspects, who are the victim’s close family members, will be remanded from today until Sept 14 to facilitate investigations under Section 376B of the Penal Code,” he said.
Meanwhile, in Sarikei, a man was remanded from today until Sept 11 to facilitate investigations into alleged incest involving his 15-year-old daughter.
Sarikei police deputy chief DSP Zamry Ali said the 38-year-old labourer was picked up at about 4pm at Sarikei Hospital yesterday.
