PETALING JAYA:
An intended sexual rendezvous with a woman he befriended on WeChat turned ugly for a 22-year-old, after he was ambushed by a group of men who stripped him naked, beat him up and extorted money from him.

According to The Star Online, the incident happened on Sunday after the victim and the 20-year-old woman agreed to meet at her apartment along Jalan Seri Taming for the purpose of having sex.

Upon greeting him at the door, the woman invited the victim inside and told him to take a shower.

However, a group of about five to six men charged into the apartment carrying weapons.

“The men as well as the 20-year old woman accused the victim of rape.

“The group then tried to extort about RM40,000 from him as well as stripped him of his clothes,” said Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussoff, adding that the suspects also recorded the victim in his naked state and threatened to spread the video if he didn’t pay up.

“His belongings were also stolen, with losses estimated at about RM8,000,” he said.

The suspects also beat up the victim and sent the video they recorded of him to his friend, demanding the money be paid to them.

ACP Ahmad Dzaffir said the friend immediately went to the police, telling them that the victim was eventually released and had returned home. No ransom was paid, the news portal reported.

“Kajang police arrested five suspects, four men and one woman, in the Bandar Kinrara area early Monday. Two of the suspects tested positive for drugs but none had previous records,” said ACP Ahmad Dzaffir.

The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for causing hurt while committing a robbery.
