Cargo train derails in KL, delays in services expected

KTMB says restoration works are in progress and train services are expected to return to normal by 4pm on Saturday.

KUALA LUMPUR:
All Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) train services will be disrupted on Saturday due to a derailed cargo train.

The derailment occurred at 4.30am at Km386.800 on the tracks between the Kuala Lumpur and Bank Negara stations.

Following the incident, the Komuter service is expected to experience delays of between 20 to 30 minutes, while the Electric Train Service (ETS) will be delayed by 15 to 20 minutes, KTMB said in a statement.

It said restoration works were in progress and train services were expected to return to normal by 4pm on Saturday.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” it said.
