PETALING JAYA:
The house of former Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) chairman Isa Samad was raided by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today.

The anti-graft agency’s chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad confirmed that the raid took place at Isa’s house in Selangor, as part of the ongoing probe into the Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) hotel purchases.

“It (the raid) is a normal procedure in MACC’s investigation, to obtain files or documents related to the case.

“I am not able to disclose here whether there will be more arrests in the future as the investigation is still ongoing,” he was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times.

Isa is expected to be remanded tomorrow, after he was arrested by MACC earlier today.

MACC deputy commissioner (operations) Azam Baki confirmed the arrest, adding that it was a follow-up to earlier statements recorded over FIC’s purchase of two hotels between 2014 and 2015, one in London and the other in Sarawak.

Isa quit his role as FGV chairman in June after meeting with Prime Minister Najib Razak, and before his appointment as acting chairman of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).
