KUCHING: Six policemen who were freed on police bail by a magistrate’s court here today over an extortion case were re-arrested outside the court in connection with another case.
State CID chief Dev Kumar said the re-arrest was to facilitate investigations into a separate extortion case involving two businessmen.
At a media conference here, he said the policemen aged, between 25 and 53, were detained after the businessmen alleged in their police reports in Batu Kawa and Sematan that a group of policemen had extorted money from them.
