PETALING JAYA:
Hours after it was reported that Yusoff Ayob, a Road Transport Department (RTD) deputy director-general, was transferred to the Public Service Department (PSD) following a traffic offence, details have emerged that another senior officer was also shipped off.

In a report by China Press, RTD deputy director-general (management) Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman said the department’s enforcement director, Valluvan Vello, was also transferred to the PSD.

“I was shocked when I learned about Valluvan’s transfer. The DG and I were not aware at all until the transfer notice came last Friday (July 21),” he was quoted as saying.

He was referring to RTD director-general Nadzri Siron, who came into the spotlight after his office was broken into on July 13.

Wan Ahmad said he did not know the real reason behind Valluvan’s transfer, but that the PSD was responsible for overseeing such moves.

FMT could not reach Valluvan for comment.

Yusoff made headlines after the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday fined him RM600 for driving on the emergency lane.

He failed to turn up in court and was represented by his special officer.
