Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said three security guards and the MMA fighter had been remanded until Friday to assist with the investigation.
“We will get to the bottom of the matter,” The Star quoted Fadzil as saying.
Police said investigations revealed that the man, in his 20s, had gone to the building to see a relative living there.
“We received a report from a 53-year-old man who claimed that the security guards had been told by the relative living there to not allow the man to enter the building,” Subang Jaya police chief ASP Mohammad Azlin Sadari said.
He said the man got angry with the guards for not letting him in and threatened them, following which a scuffle ensued.
According to investigations, the man had previously lived in the apartment with his relatives.
Azlin said the man, who claims to be an MMA fighter, had withdrawn his police report, but the case was still being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting.
Yesterday, a video of the supposed MMA fighter getting into a fight with a security guard went viral on social media.
The posting, made by Discover Subang Jaya on Facebook, recorded the fight in four short videos and two pictures.
In the video, the man is seen engaging in a heated argument with a security guard. The man then flings a kick at the security guard’s left shin.
The guard manages to grab the man’s leg and they both tumble to the ground, but the man ends up sitting on the guard.
Two other security guards then intervene and grab hold of the man, with one of the guards using a baton to hit him.
Finally, the four security guards manage to subdue the man on the ground, tying his hands with a rope.
