“There are only cameras inside the entertainment outlet at Lebuh Pantai and none at the parking lot,” Northeast District police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar said.
“Our investigation officer has yet to retrieve the footage. However, he has looked at it,” the New Straits Times quoted Anuar as saying.
He said there were only footages inside the premise showing both the suspect and the victim walking together but none covered the parking area.
The 21-year-old victim, who is working as a part-time waitress at the outlet, claimed that the 50-year-old man sexually assaulted her at the car park at about 11pm on Thursday.
According to the woman’s police report, which has gone viral, the waitress alleged that the drunk man had taken her to the car park, molested her and asked her to perform oral sex on him.
The woman claimed she had refused his advances but failed to stop him. When she started crying, the man masturbated and ejaculated on her.
Later, the man had apparently offered her RM500 to RM700 to “spend the night” with him. She refused and asked to be let go.
She lodged a police report at the Beach Street police station the following day.
The man has since been remanded under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with intent to outrage modesty.
