It appointed Abu Bakar Harun and Ab Ghani Mohd Ali as non-independent non-executive directors, effective today, Bernama reported.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, FGV said it had also appointed Muzzammil Mohd Nor as a non-independent non-executive alternate director.
It said Abu Bakar Harun, 56, is chairman of the Pahang State Felda Affairs Committee in the state government.
Ghani, 59, is Felda acting director-general.
Muzzammil, 45, serves as Felda deputy director-general (management).
The appointments appear to be in response to suggestions to have more people experienced in Felda matters on the FGV board.
An earlier Bernama report had quoted Gabungan Wawasan Generasi Felda (GWGF) as calling for a revamp of the FGV board of directors by bringing in three representatives from Felda.
GWGF chairman Rozali Ismail said this was to ensure that any decision made by the public-listed company would be known to Felda settlers and their family members as the majority shareholders of FGV.
He also said he fully supported the newly-appointed FGV chairman, Sulaiman Mahbob, heading the company. Sulaiman took over from Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.
Felda holds a 33.67% stake in FGV.
