“If she wants to refer me to the disciplinary board, she has all the right to do so.
“I think this clearly upholds the democratic and transparent process, as well as the concept of accountability in the party.
“And I’m prepared to face (the disciplinary board). As the party always says, dare to stand for the truth,” the PPBM Youth chief said to FMT when contacted today.
Hamidah this morning told FMT that she would write a letter to PPBM’s disciplinary board, calling for action to be taken against Syed Saddiq, whom she said had made “wild and unfounded allegations” about her.
This was after Syed Saddiq had on May 28 accused Hamidah of masterminding the surprise resignation of more than 1,000 Perak PPBM members en masse.
He also called Hamidah, the former Gopeng Umno Wanita chief, a hypocrite who was upset with party president Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision not to name her as PPBM Perak state chief.
“I know she (Hamidah) is behind this. I will say it upfront: I want Hamidah to resign. If you are in the party for positions, then ‘berambus’ (get lost),” Syed Saddiq told FMT then.
Asked if he would defend his statement if questioned by the disciplinary board, Syed Saddiq said, “Of course.
“I’m not afraid because I know exactly what happened in regards to this issue. And I was just executing my duty.
“When she slanders the top leadership of the party, I have the right and the responsibility to respond to her allegation.
“She knows all the evidence I have, which I will provide to the disciplinary board,” he added.
