Uploaded yesterday evening on the Facebook page of Malaysian Tamilar Kural, the video, lasting 2.23-minutes long, shows eight boys mocking their friend, who is clearly under the influence of drugs or alcohol, in a secluded area.
A message accompanying the video reads: “School boy is believed under the influence of drugs. If there is any information regarding the school boy in this video, please inform the school, parents or the police to act, otherwise their lives will be useless and they will become drug addicts.”
Speaking in Tamil, the boys keep telling their friend to dance as two others in the group prop him up as he appears soft knee-ed and flaying his arms as he struggles to stand.
One of the boys propping him up says as he laughs, “He is dancing like one possessed”.
At this point, the boy recording the video says, “Jeeva, just let him go. Vicky, let him go. Let him dance as much as he wants.”
“Play that song. Let him dance. Pick up that bottle from the ground and give it to him. Let him hold it whiles he dances,” he added.
The boys are also heard shouting profanities at each other and they laugh and joke.
In one part of the video, the boy recording his friends, goes over to join the others, forcing his two friends to let go of the drunken boy. He tells them the drunk boy will be fine on his own.
The boy’s friends are however reluctant to, fearful that he would fall.
“If he falls, punch him in the stomach and he will sober up”, the other boy says.
At the time of writing, the video had been viewed over 26,000 times and shared by over 800 Facebook users.
97 people also left comments about the boys in the video, with many condemning them for their bullying antics and for being under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.
