Unable to bear his actions any longer, the 42-year-old ex-girlfriend, who only wanted to be identified as Wong, has lodged a police report against him and sought advice from MCA Public Affairs and Complaints Department chairman Michael Chong.
Chong, highlighting the plight of single mothers at a press conference in his office, said the Johor-based Wong had been in a relationship with the man since 2010.
“The woman broke off with the boyfriend around Chinese New Year this year as she could not tolerate his over-controlling behaviour,” Chong was quoted as saying by The Star.
However, the boyfriend, who is in his 40s, did not take her rejection very well and started harassing and accusing her of cheating him of his money.
The victim, a single mother of two teenagers, would receive up to 20 calls a night from an unknown number. However, each time she picked up, the caller would end the call.
Chong said the matter took a turn for the worse when the man sent Wong’s nude picture to her sister and labelled her a fraud.
“He even threatened to share the picture with the victim’s other family members and friends,” Chong said.
The man’s actions forced Wong to lodge a report at the Kulaijaya police station.
Chong said the police were investigating the case and appealed to the man to stop harassing Wong and her two teenage daughters.
He also advised women never to pose nude or record themselves in intimate moments.
