PETALING JAYA: DAP MP Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz reportedly suffered a stroke on Friday but is recovering in hospital.

Although no information has been forthcoming on which hospital the Raub MP is at, party veteran Lim Kit Siang told news portal Malaysiakini that he was moved from the intensive care unit (ICU) on Saturday.

Ariff, 61, who also goes by his blogging pen name Sakmongkol AK47, has been a DAP member since 2012. Before that, he was Pekan Umno information chief.

After joining DAP, he contested the Raub seat in 2013 and won it with a 2,814 vote majority over the Barisan Nasional candidate.
