Its chief commissioner, Dzulkifli Ahmad, said it was only a matter of time before action was taken against those involved.
“We already have a list of the individuals involved, just wait and see our next course of action,” he told Bernama and Radio Television Malaysia after officiating the MACC Ziarah Kasih programme in Kampung Manik Urai here today.
He declined to reveal the identity of the individuals concerned. However, he promised Malaysians that at least one case would be investigated or prosecuted on a weekly basis to free the country from corruption and abuse of power within the next three years.
“Thus far, I have not been discouraged or failed to carry out my promise. If you look at current development, not only one case a week, but up to two, three cases are investigated and prosecuted in court.
“We will take action from time to time, so I ask for support from all Malaysians as we only have a strength of 1,900 personnel and officers to keep an eye on 1.6 million civil servants,” he said.
He welcomed the statement from Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that law enforcement officers under his ministry who asked for bribes would be arrested.
Dzulkifli expressed hope that other ministries would take proactive measures to nab those involved in corrupt practices.
