Maidzatul Ashra Mokhtar, 37, was charged with 20 counts of falsifying local orders (LO) before magistrate Nurul Fitriza Abd Latif, while the remaining 18 charges, also for falsifying the LO, were read out before magistrate Mohd Zaki Abd Rahman.

Maidzatul Ashra was alleged to have falsified the LO documents with the intention of cheating his superior.

The offences were allegedly committed on Feb 19 last year at the Seremban district and land office here.

She was charged under Section 468 of the Penal Code and faces imprisonment of up to seven years and a fine, if found guilty.

Nurul Fitriza allowed her bail of RM7,000 for all the 20 charges, while Zaki set bail of RM3,000 on each of the 18 charges.

Both magistrates set May 30 for mention.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutors Mohamad Azriff Firdaus Mohamad and Sara Afiqah Zulkipli, while Maidzatul Ashra was represented by lawyer Norliana Ali Othman.
