
He said the students and staff who underwent the checks were fine and none were suffering from any serious illness, reported The Star.
Ayub said health officers conducted medical examinations on 107 students and 14 staff members at the private religious school located in Kampung Lukut in Kota Tinggi on Wednesday.
“None of the students or staff who underwent the medical examinations was suffering from any serious illness,” he said when contacted on Friday.
Ayub said some students had minor skin problems and rashes, which is common with students staying in a hostel.
It was reported that student Mohamad Thaqif Amin Mohd Gaddafi was hospitalised and had both his legs amputated due to an infection following the alleged abuse by the school’s assistant warden.
He died on Wednesday at 2.05pm.
