In the latest clip of animal abuse to surface in recent weeks, a beige-coloured dog is seen huddled in a wire cage while a fire burns outside.
A man, presumably the owner, drags the cage over the fire, positioning it directly over the flames, which appear to burn the dog’s tail and hindquarters.
The 16-second video was uploaded on Facebook and quickly went viral. It was accompanied by a picture that seemed to show the dog’s charred remains.
According to theSun, however, the dog is still alive and will be adopted soon.
The paper quoted a report by Sin Chew Daily which said the owner had lodged a police report after receiving death threats. He has also apologised and wants the public to stop harassing his family, the report said.
