State PAS commissioner Muhammad Fauzi Yusof said it was unfair to relate alleged ill deeds by a former member to the party.
Fauzi questioned PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli’s motive in smearing PAS.
He said Rafizi should not have attributed the allegations to PAS as the party had nothing to do with the issue.
Fauzi said alleging PAS’ involvement had tarnished the good name of the party.
“What is Rafizi’s point in doing all this? Ini semua tidak masuk akal (It doesn’t make sense) as this has nothing to do with PAS.
“This is a former member we are talking about. He is no longer with the party. Rafizi is being very, very irresponsible,” Fauzi told FMT.
Fauzi said since Rafizi was after former PAS members, he should perhaps focus on former PAS deputy president Mohamed Sabu and others who had left as well.
PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad earlier today said the party “didn’t receive a single sen” from the alleged funds.
“We can’t even pay our electricity bill. If we had the cash, we wouldn’t be in such dire straits.”
Earlier today, Rafizi said former PAS deputy president Nasharudin Mat Isa had allegedly received funds from a former 1MDB subsidiary.
This followed Rafizi’s initial claim on April 7 that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had traced the flow of funds from 1MDB to an individual close to the PAS leadership.
Nasharudin has not responded to calls for comment.
