Manjung PWD engineer, Haslina Mohd Isa said the image of the bridge that went viral was actually that of the one under construction in a village nearby.
She said inspections conducted on the three bridges in Segari, namely the Sitiawan Bridge, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Bridge and Semalon Bridge, found no cracks on them and all were safe for use by members of the public.
“The claim (cracks on Sitiwan Bridge) was made by irresponsible quarters to create anxiety among villagers and users of the bridge,” she said when contacted by Bernama here today.
