Mohd Raffi Ali Hassan, political secretary to the Federal Territories minister, said the programme was currently only for free fuel.
It would be improvised to include free motorcycle service before the Hari Raya celebration, he added.
He said the first improvement was the monthly lucky draw offering motorcycle accessories and safety helmets, which started this month.
“We will continue to improve the programme to make it more more interesting and more helpful, with lucky draws beginning this month and free motorcycle service in May or June,” he said after the “Jom Isi Minyak” event at the Petronas station in Saguking, here, last night.
Raffi, who is also Labuan Umno Youth chief, said the initiative introduced last year had been extended to all Umno branches in the federal territory from this month and will last until the end of this year.
He said the idea was mooted upon considering a number of youths on the island losing their jobs following the slowdown of the oil and gas sector.
“But now, we are not only focusing on those affected but on all motorcyclists in view of the volatile oil price, as the objective is to ease the people’s financial burden, particularly the motorcyclists,” he added.
