PETALING JAYA:
Karangkraf, the host for next Friday’s debate between Umno minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz and former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, has confirmed that the police have given their approval for the debate to go ahead.

Karangkraf managing director Hussamuddin Yaacub said Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat confirmed the approval in a letter.

He expressed his gratitude to the police saying, “We take note of all rules given and will inform the two debaters.”

Local daily Sinar Harian quoted Hussamuddin as saying only 450 invited people would be allowed to attend the debate.

He said as a precaution, the debate which would not be open to the public will kick off at 9pm on April 7 at the Karangkraf Group’s complex in Shah Alam.

The invited participants are encouraged to come early and comply with the rules.

“Those attending must dress neatly and are not allowed to carry prohibited items and seats are limited,” he said.
