PETALING JAYA:
Passers-by came to the rescue of a woman who had her handbag snatched by two robbers, while she was still in her car in an incident captured by closed-circuit TV recently.

The footage uploaded to TheSun’s YouTube page with the title “Street justice for backlane criminals in Ipoh” shows the two men passing along a back lane between shophouses, and stopping next to a dark-coloured car.

One of the men then opened the driver’s side door and snatched the handbag with the woman trying to hold on to it in vain.

However, her screams were heard by two passersby, who came running to the rescue and kicked at the motorcycle, causing the robbers to fall off.

Soon, a few other men came to join the “crime-fighting” effort and eventually one of the two robbers is seen making a run for it leaving behind the motorbike, as his partner-in-crime is held down by at least three good samaritans.

There is no indication in the video as to when and where (other than the title) the incident occurred, but it was uploaded on TheSun’s YouTube page yesterday.
