Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir said that unknown to many, the officer had been posted in his office since 2010.
“We have never informed the media about this before, but we think it is appropriate to announce it today to ensure smooth running of state affairs, in addition to maintaining good relations with the MACC.”
Zambry said this to reporters after the signing of the corruption-free pledge (CFP) by the state executive council members here today.
The menteri besar said the presence of the MACC officer could overcome various problems, especially when it involved the reputation of the state government.
Meanwhile, MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad praised the efforts and commitment of the Perak government in ensuring the management and administration of the state was free from corruption.
“We hope to maintain such cooperation and the state government will continue to adhere to the law.”
Perak is the sixth state government to have signed the pledge after Sarawak, Kedah, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan and Perlis.
