PETALING JAYA:
DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang is expected to go back to his Gelang Patah constituency in Johor tomorrow to prove he is “not missing”.

Lim is currently in Kuala Lumpur for the current Dewan Rakyat sitting.

He said he would speak on the issue of posters and banners proclaiming he was “missing” found near his service centre in Gelang Patah tomorrow evening.

“Not today. I will respond in Gelang Patah tomorrow evening.

“Will be in Kulim tonight and Alor Star tomorrow morning,” he told Malaysiakini.

Posters with the message “Have you seen Uncle Lim Kit Siang?” were recently put up near DAP’s service centre in Taman Nusa Perintis in Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru.

It further said: “Missing for months if not years already. Please help to locate. We miss him a lot.”

The Star said a mobile phone number provided at the bottom of the poster was non-operational.

Also found nearby was a banner that said: “Where is Uncle Lim Kit Siang? Gelang Patah misses you.”

Gelang Patah Umno division chief Khairi A Malik told The Star that BN had nothing to do with the posters.

It was also reported that during the 2014 Teluk Intan by-election, Gerakan Youth member Rich Too had distributed 100 copies of similar posters to the voters.

Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang took to Twitter to urge Lim to reveal how many days he had spent in the Gelang Patah constituency.

However, Johor Opposition leader Gan Peck Cheng defended Lim, saying he had done a good job in raising national issues and the posters were an attempt to damage his credibility.
