
Instead, the Temerloh MP said, it merely encouraged people to use condoms.
“The woman in the ad would say, ‘no condom, no way’.
“But it won’t stop people from having premarital sex. This is not a solution,” he told the Dewan Rakyat today.
He added that sex education would not prevent people from having illicit sex although it may curb pregnancies out of wedlock.
Nasrudin then urged the government to curb illicit sex, such as by restricting access to or removing settings “could lead people into temptation”.
He cited “obscene” entertainment, the mingling of the sexes and the lack of religious education as the factors encouraging prostitution and the sex industry.
Nasrudin explained that by “obscenity” he did not mean just nudity. It covered sexy images and suggestive dances as well.
In addition, he said promiscuity would lead to more children being born out of wedlock, adding that statistics showed there were 159,725 such cases in 2013-2016.
“And this will see more cases of babies being dumped which stems from children being born out of wedlock.”
His statement comes a week after his PAS colleague Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz (PAS-Pasir Mas) spoke about the “vice industry”, referring specifically to prostitution, gambling and drugs.
