Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said the university was proud of being able to compete with 21,000 universities in the world.
“Thank God, we are proud of this achievement, whereby in the 15 years since the establishment of UniMAP, first as an engineering college, it has now for the first time been recognised in the QS Rankings.”
He said the recognition could be the catalyst for UniMAP to achieve its target of becoming one of the top 500 universities in the world by 2020.
He was speaking to reporters after a gathering with the media and launch of the books Redah and Budaya Estetik by UniMAP’s Board chairman Prof Emeritus Zainai Mohamed.
