
Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister who is also Hulu Terengganu Member of Parliament, Jailani Johari said the Information Department, Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) and Department of Special Affairs (JASA) must swiftly respond to all baseless accusations and negative issues brought up by the opposition.
“They are the key to national political stability and harmony…the relentless attacks of the opposition should not go unanswered,” he said in his speech at a prize-presentation ceremony in conjunction with the Hulu Terengganu level District Voting Centre (PDM) Competition here, yesterday.
The Hulu Terengganu Umno Division chief also urged the party to change its working style to suit the times and to keep up with the people’s demands.
“Forget the conflicts between us and strengthen unity…don’t dwell too much over who will be a candidate at PRU14 (GE14). From now on, it is time for us to work as a team,” he said.
Jailani said the PDM competition was held to revive and mobilise PDM activities in anticipation of the next general election.
“We will also be able to gather the latest data and information on the general election besides evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency and morale of the general election machinery.
Pulau Bahagia emerged as the best PDM and took home RM4,000 while second place went to Tok Randok. The third prize winner was Nibong.
