Immigration officer, 3 others remanded in corruption probe

The four men are being detained for investigations into alleged corruption involving operators of entertainment outlets and massage parlours in Perak.

A senior officer of the Perak Immigration Department and three other individuals are in remand for five days for investigations into a case of corruption.

Magistrate Siti Hanum Mohmad Shah issued the remand order following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

According to a source, the immigration officer, aged 57, and the other three individuals – two businessmen, both aged 30, and a mechanic, aged 23 – were detained for investigations into alleged corruption involving operators of entertainment outlets and massage parlours in Perak.

Perak MACC director Nooraziah Abd Manaf, when contacted, confirmed that the four individuals were arrested between midnight and 5am today at various locations in the state.
