PETALING JAYA: Amanah’s Husam Musa today stood by his claim that PAS had received RM90 million from Umno and welcomed the Islamist party’s decision to sue him over his allegation.

In a statement, Husam said legal action could uncover the truth behind the allegation.

“I stand by what I said at a ceramah in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan on Feb 6,” the former PAS vice-president said.

Husam, in one of his lectures on video, said PAS had received RM90 million from Umno. The video has since gone viral on social media.

He also said the money was channelled through Affin Bank.

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has vehemently denied the allegations, labelling them “malicious”.

Earlier today, Tuan Ibrahim said they would take legal action against Husam as they had against Sarawak Report.

In December, PAS sent a letter of demand to Sarawak Report after the whistleblower site reported that the party leadership had allegedly received RM90 million from the prime minister.

However, Husam said Tuan Ibrahim’s statement that PAS wanted to haul him to court had been made “without proper deliberation” as he might be in the dark over the matter.

“He may be unaware of neither head nor tail of the issue at hand,” Husam said.
