JAKARTA: An official at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur was detained for graft after being kept under surveillance for several months.
Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested the suspect at his office in Kuala Lumpur yesterday before raiding his house in the city where they also seized several documents.
KPK public relations bureau chief Febri Diansyah said today the suspect would be repatriated to Jakarta as soon as possible to face graft charges.
Online media quoted Febri as saying KPK, with the cooperation of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, had conducted a surveillance on the official’s alleged activities for several months before moving yesterday.
