Sturgeon fish case: Remand of 2 ex-Felda officers extended

Three others detained for the same case have been released on Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) bond.

PUTRAJAYA: The remand order on two former Felda senior officers, including one with a ‘Datuk’ title, was extended today to facilitate investigations into the case of misappropriation of RM47.6 million linked to the Sturgeon fish breeding project.

Three others, who were detained in the same case, were released on a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) bond after they were initially remanded for a week.

The remand order and release of the suspects, aged between 30 and 57, was made by Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman today.

The two officers still in custody have been remanded for another three days.

All five were detained at several locations around the Klang Valley on Jan 24 in the operation codenamed “Op Caviar”.
