
The couple, P Maniveloo, 47, and S Malathi, 42, were in a Peugeot car, and died on the spot, said Kuala Langat police chief Supt Zailan Tasir.
The third person was Ang Chee Peng, 33, the driver of a Range Rover, who died during treatment at the Banting Hospital, he said in a statement.
A passenger in the Range Rover was injured and has been admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang, he said.
The bodies of Maniveloo and Malathi were sent to the Banting Hospital, he added.
In PERAK, a senior manager from UMW Oil and Gas was among five people who died in an accident involving two cars at Km16 of Jalan Ipoh-Lumut near Batu Gajah today.
From the five who were killed in the 3.30pm accident, involving a Toyota Vios and Mercedes Benz, two were identified as Anita Zuriana Abu Zarim, 46, from UMW Oil and Gas, and Leong Kok Chuen, 37, while three others who died in the accident have yet to be identified.
Batu Gajah police chief ACP Mohd Nasri Omar said Anita Zuriana’s husband Radzlan Mohamed, 50, and their two children, Anisa Rizuana, 19, and Azra Rhea, 13, suffered serious injuries.
Nasir said initial investigations revealed that the Mercedes Benz, driven by Radzlan, was heading to Seri Iskandar from Ipoh when the accident happened.
“Upon reaching the spot, the Vios car that was coming from the opposite direction had overtaken another vehicle and crashed into the Mercedes,” he said in a statement here today.
Nasri said a passenger seated in the front seat of the Mercedes and the driver of the Vios died on the spot.
Earlier reports said fire and rescue personnel took about an hour to remove the trapped bodies.
The bodies were later taken to the Batu Gajah Hospital.
