JOHOR BAHRU:
A Road Transport Department (RTD) officer, who was believed to have surprised several burglars in his house in Pontian, was hacked to death yesterday afternoon.

Jaiman Sapar, 53, was attacked by a group of men armed with parang. He suffered multiple slash wounds in the neck, shoulder and abdomen.

His body was later found in some bushes near his rented house in Kampung Parit Pak Intan, Parit Sikom.

Pontian police chief Supt Zakaria Abdul Rahman said there were signs of forced entry into the victim’s house and his LCD television was missing.

Zakaria said the incident occurred at about noon after Jaiman had just returned from his sister’s house, located about three kilometres away.

His sister, Siti Pujinah, found the body of Jaiman, a RTD Pontian branch staff, in some bushes near the house. He had contacted her after the attack.

The body was sent to the Pontian Hospital.
