The avid numbers lottery punter struck it big with his two numbers (2230, 2101) coming out as first and second prize, respectively, in the Magnum 4D draw last Wednesday.
“I have been playing Magnum for over 20 years and never miss any draws,” he said, adding the eight digits which he bet on were the combination of his family members’ birthdays.
The businessman, 53, said the biggest amount he had previously won in the 4D numbers lottery was around RM1 million.
“But when Magnum introduced the Magnum 4D Jackpot game I had always dreamt of winning the big Jackpot prize and now my dream has really come true.”
In a press release by Magnum, the businessman, who was not named for privacy reasons, also narrated his experience on how he had found out that he struck the jackpot.
“I checked the results through the Magnum 4D apps. I could not believe my eyes when I saw my numbers appear in the top three prizes. I kept on refreshing the app to confirm that it was not a dream,” he said, adding he was sleepless throughout the night after realising he had won RM20 million.
A Magnum spokesperson told FMT that the man said he would contribute some of his winnings to charity.
“However, he has yet to decide on how he wants to spend the rest of his RM20.3 million winnings,” the spokesperson said.
Magnum was also pleased that the win, coming as the Lunar New Year is just days away, brings with it a prosperous start to the year of the rooster.
“This is truly a joyous occasion not only for the winner but for all of us at Magnum as well,” it said.
