
PETALING JAYA: An army corporal had his hand blown off in an explosion this morning at the military post in Kelantan, near the Malaysia-Thai border.
According to The Star Online, the blast occurred at 9.28am inside a tent at the Pasir Putih army post in the border security zone.
The injured was reported to be Corporal Mohd Zulkifli Salleh, 32, from Kelantan. He lost his left hand at the wrist and also suffered shrapnel injuries in the leg and face.
The defence ministry is expected to issue a statement on the explosion, which is as yet unexplained.
