“We have our ways when it comes to people involved in such crimes,” Khalid said today.
The IGP was asked to comment on reports that Selva Kumar, dubbed Canada’s “worst serial rapist”, will be deported back to the country at the end of the month.
Khalid had earlier said that when a convict has served his sentence, even in another country, then “that’s it”.
Canadian police, he added, will share Selva Kumar’s criminal records with their Malaysian counterparts.
“We will keep these records.”
Selva Kumar was sentenced to 24 years in prison in 1992 after he was found guilty of 19 counts of sexual assault, 28 counts of administering a drug or noxious substance, 10 counts of various kinds of assault and a dozen other charges, including extortion.
Canadian news sources have dubbed him as possibly Canada’s worst rapist, who used powerful drugs to render his victims unconscious before he molested and raped them.
Canadian newspaper Toronto Star reported a few days ago that Selva Kumar would be deported to Malaysia following his mandatory release on Jan 29, despite warnings from prison staff that he had the potential to reoffend or even kill.
On a separate matter, Khalid said the seven police officers arrested earlier this week for their involvement with the drug trade, have been charged in court.
“There will be no special treatment for them.
Asked if the officers would be sacked, Khalid said, “Of course.”
“The legal processes are still ongoing. At this moment, we are suspending their salaries and when the court sentences them, we will terminate their services.
“We don’t want these black sheep to be in our team.”
