According to Sungai Besar MP Budiman Mohd Zuhdi, Kamarol Zaki was found unconscious in his home in Sungai Air Tawar in Sabak Bernam, Selangor.
“But we are unsure about the cause of his death,” he told FMT when contacted.
A former SK Seri Mawar headmaster, Kamarol Zaki was appointed as an Umno Sabak Bernam committee member in 1981 before slowly moving up the party ranks.
Fondly known as “Cikgu Zaki” among his constituents, Kamarol Zaki was the Sabak Bernam Umno division number two prior to his death.
In the last general election, Kamarol Zaki beat PAS’s Wahid Rais with a 1,416 majority after garnering 7,096 votes.
The one-term assemblyman leaves behind a wife, Rossimah Abbas – a teacher – and four children.
