Marzuki Yahaya said PPBM was dead against corruption and therefore would never entertain the thought of giving people money to join the party.
“There is talk that we give RM50 to get people to come on board.
“We have 30 to 40 people moving around doing party work in Penang and they don’t even get petrol money.
“We will not be giving people RM50 to join us. In fact, we are against corruption,” he said.
Marzuki said PPBM was formed precisely because its leaders and members wanted to put an end to corruption in the country.
He said this during a speech in Kampung Tok Sani, here, where villagers submitted 111 membership forms to join the party.
He said 10,000 forms had been distributed in Penang and so far, 7,000 had been filled and returned to the party for consideration.
