Barisan Nasional (BN) Senator Khairul Azwan Harun said this in reference to Lim’s Christmas eve statement, where the latter claimed Malaysia was a failed state and that its policies only worked for the elite.
“Lim should reflect on his own actions after being charged in court with obtaining gratification for himself and subsequently buying his Pinhorn Road bungalow at below market price,” he said in a statement today.
He said Lim also complained that those who voiced out their rights are continually silenced and intimidated.
“But Lim should look himself in the mirror after he punished fellow DAP member Teh Yee Cheu who, concerned for the environment, voted for BN’s proposal that all reclamation development be subjected to public hearing.
“Even DAP’s Indian members continue to face blocks when they try to criticise the DAP leadership,” he said, adding that Lim is a “narcissist and a hypocrite”.
Lim had quoted former US President Franklin Roosevelt’s “Four Freedoms”, which included the freedom from fear, to show how the BN government has turned the country into a failed state.
However, as Lim has failed to “walk the talk”, Khairul said Roosevelt himself would have been ashamed to be quoted by the Penang chief minister.
“(Lim) is someone who perpetuates communal polarisation through fear mongering politics.
