
PUTRAJAYA: The higher education ministry will provide full cooperation to the authorities in the investigation into the arrest of two students from the Al-Madinah International University (Mediu) for alleged involvement in Daesh activities.
“The ministry views seriously the arrest of two Mediu students for alleged involvement in the Daesh militant group.
“It also took note of the clarification issued by Mediu on the matter,” the ministry said in a statement here today.
On Wednesday, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed that between Nov 3 and Dec 16, seven men, including students of Mediu, had been arrested for alleged involvment in terrorist activities.
Mediu deputy rector for external relations Ab Ghani Mohamad, however, clarified that the two students had been expelled from the university.
