Police say they are now looking for the maid’s employer, who is suspected of having abused her as she was in a severely injured state.
The maid was first spotted by a security guard at the residential area in PJU 3/10. He then notified a nearby resident shortly after noon.
According to Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din, the resident immediately brought the girl to the nearest clinic for treatment and took her to the Mutiara Damansara police station to lodge a report.
The maid was later sent to University Malaya Medical Centre for further treatment, NST reported.
“Our initial investigation revealed that the girl is working in one of the houses in the residential area.
“Efforts to track down the employer and her place of employment are being conducted.
“Based on her injuries, we believe that she was abused,” Zani said in a statement.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
