Miri police chief ACP Khoo Leng Huat said in the incident which occurred at 9.50pm, the 34-year-old housewife suffered bruises on her face and arms after being beaten by her husband who worked offshore.
“The incident was due to jealousy on the part of the suspect who thought the victim was having an affair with another man,” he said here today.
Khoo said the 31-year-old suspect, who was a local, and the victim had three children.
“The victim is now receiving out-patient treatment at the Miri Hospital and police are tracking down the suspect,” he said.
