SHAH ALAM:
Amanah says it is not worried about being sidelined in the wake of PAS’s plan to organise a joint ceramah event with PKR and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) tomorrow.

“Whatever happens tomorrow night, we will be informed,” said Amanah president Mohamad Sabu at the end of the party’s two-day convention today.

PAS is not part of Pakatan Harapan which consists of PKR, DAP and Amanah, but still maintains ties with PKR.

The party has also yet to state whether it would cooperate with PPBM, despite strong words from its chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad mocking PAS leaders as confused for hesitating to enter into a deal with their opposition parties to ensure straight fights against Barisan Nasional at the next polls.

Selangor PAS is said to have invited the presidents of PKR and PPBM, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Muhyiddin Yassin, to speak at its ceramah in Paya Jeras.

The move is seen by observers as an attempt by PAS to form a third bloc in the state, and to ensure it still could be part of the Selangor state government should Pakatan return to power at the next general election.
